Right now, we're expanding and looking to welcome a new Systems and Network Administrator into our fold. It’s a role that mixes the nitty-gritty of tech support with the thrill of solving diverse IT challenges—perfect for someone who loves variety and is keen to make a real impact.
Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced full time Systems and Network Administrator to manage and support our organization's IT infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and security of our network and systems, ensuring high availability and performance. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and skilled in troubleshooting and optimizing IT systems and network operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, configure, and troubleshoot network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Monitor network performance, analyze data traffic, and optimize network stability and speed.
- Implement and maintain network security protocols to safeguard data and protect against unauthorized access.
Systems Administration
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers, ensuring system reliability, security, and performance.
- Conduct regular server backups, data recovery procedures, and disaster recovery planning.
- Manage and maintain Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and other network services.
User and Access Management
- Administer user accounts, permissions, and access controls according to organizational policies.
- Maintain endpoint security by monitoring antivirus, patch management, and data loss prevention protocols.
- Ensure compliance with security policies, including encryption, two-factor authentication, and access controls.
Performance Monitoring and Troubleshooting
- Monitor systems for performance issues, troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems, and minimize downtime.
- Perform routine maintenance and updates to keep systems and network devices secure and up-to-date.
- Optimize system configurations to improve performance and efficiency.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, system settings, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Create regular reports on system performance, security status, and network uptime for management review.
- Assist in the development of IT policies and procedures to improve efficiency and security.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, VPNs, routers, and switches.
- Proficiency with Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.
- Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and tools, including firewall management, endpoint protection, and data encryption.
- Scripting and automation skills (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) are a plus.
Soft Skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff.
- Proactive, organized, and detail-oriented.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
