Location: Harrisburg, PA - Only candidates residing within the greater Harrisburg area will be considered.

Position Type: Hybrid, 2 days per week onsite

Contract Length: 7 months, with extension

Position Overview:

This role involves supporting network design, integration, maintenance, and vendor management, requiring strong technical expertise and communication skills to ensure high-performance, secure network services across the enterprise. CCNA and CCNP certifications preferred.

Required Skills:

  • 4 years of network switching experience
  • 3 years of network routing experience

Preferred Skills:

  • CCNA certification
  • CCNP certification
  • 2 years of SD-WAN experience

Duties:

  • Provide support for the Enterprise networks; manage vendors that support management of the Enterprise networks. Knowledge of the installation, configuration, and maintenance, and management of network infrastructure consisting primarily of switches, routers, firewalls, Silver Peak SD-WAN edge appliances, wireless infrastructure, cellular-based appliances, and all associated hardware and software.
  • Performs network management functions utilizing various industry tools to monitor, test, verify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex network problems by working with users, service providers, business partners, and others to resolve problems.
  • Act as a vendor liaison and interfaces directly with all the technical vendors supplying data network services. This requires the enforcement of all rules governing SLA’s and standards dealing with scheduled systems upgrades and testing.
  • Understand the design of LAN/WAN network architecture including:
  • Network bandwidth analysis and capacity planning.
  • Detailed specifications and schematic engineering drawings for network enhancements and modifications.
  • Assists in the execution of planned deployments and upgrades and supports change management efforts within the edge networking group.
  • Assists widespread events/ incidents to customers and other networking teams as needed.
  • Proactively identifies and troubleshoots issues related to complex network problems and works them to resolution, including communication to other networking teams.
  • Evaluates current and future Enterprise network needs and works with the Enterprise architect and Enterprise Service Delivery team to prepare technical solutions and recommendations.
  • Reviews the development of configuration standards.
  • Ensures that all existing and new networks meet or exceed the security requirements set forth.
  • Utilize network documentation including but not limited to network diagrams, spreadsheets, and vendor documentation for troubleshooting purposes. Develop and maintain technical documentation and knowledge base articles.
  • Maintains an understanding of various routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of network monitoring tools and automation.
  • Responsible for assigned roles within the Enterprise Change Management system to include; submitting and reviewing change requests, as well as, communicating these scheduled events through the Network Notifications process.
  • Be familiar with ITIL 4 framework and best practices. Understand the Service Management Practices such as change management, problem and incident management.
  • Coordinates Enterprise change management efforts with vendors, Delivery Centers, Agencies and other Enterprise network teams.
  • Participates in Service Now trouble ticket resolution and reporting.
  • Ensures that assigned Enterprise Network Services networking trouble tickets or incidents follow established processes and are fully documented within Service Now.
  • Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing with other employees, vendors, and business partners.
