Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and licensed Civil Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in civil engineering, including project planning, design, and execution. This role involves working on various infrastructure projects such as site planning, structural design, water systems, environmental and transportation. The Licensed Civil Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that all projects meet technical standards, comply with regulations, and are completed on time and within budget.
Salary is based on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning & Design: Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation. Design civil engineering projects such as roads, bridges, tunnels, water supply, and drainage systems using advanced engineering software.
- Site Assessment & Analysis: Conduct site inspections to assess project feasibility, evaluate potential environmental impacts, and determine necessary adjustments to plans.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including environmental, safety, and building codes. Prepare and submit the required documentation to obtain permits and approvals.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare and review engineering reports, blueprints, and specifications. Ensure all technical documentation is accurate and up to date.
- Construction Oversight: Oversee construction activities, ensuring they adhere to the approved designs, specifications, and timelines. Provide technical guidance to contractors and on-site teams.
- Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies. Monitor project progress and adjust plans as necessary to address emerging challenges.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with architects, contractors, government agencies, and clients to ensure smooth project execution. Address any concerns or changes in project scope.
- Quality Assurance: Implement quality control procedures to ensure project deliverables meet the highest standards. Conduct regular inspections and audits.
- Budget Management: Monitor project budgets and expenditures, ensuring projects remain within financial constraints. Provide regular financial reports and updates to management.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. A Master's degree is a plus.
- Licensing: Must hold a valid Professional Engineer (PE) license in Alabama.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant tools. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
- Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities with the capability to analyze complex engineering challenges and develop effective solutions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Project Management: Proven experience in managing large-scale projects from inception to completion, with a focus on time and budget management.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
Work Environment:
- Primarily office-based with regular visits to construction sites.
- May require working in various weather conditions and terrains.
- Must be able to travel to project sites as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk, stand, and lift materials at job sites.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
Pay Range: $100K - $200K/ Yearly
The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
