Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command, Pacific (NAVFAC Pacific) is looking for journey level Mechanical Engineers in the Spokane commuting area for our upcoming satellite design and engineering office in Spokane, Washington.
A NAVFAC Mechanical Engineer provides independent, timely, and professional mechanical engineering products, services, and consultation for the planning, design, construction and maintenance of facilities for the Navy, Marine Corps, and other Supported Commands.
Typical projects include: HVAC systems, industrial, energy monitoring, and HVAC controls, DoD fuel piping systems and storage facilities, mechanical utilities, plumbing, compressed air and gasses, energy systems, renewable energy systems, industrial processes, industrial ventilation systems, and commissioning.

As a Mechanical Engineer you will:
- Design analyses and calculations for mechanical projects and is responsible for the preparation of final detailed working drawings, comparative cost analysis, Request for Proposals (RFPs), and project specifications for a wide variety of facility types.
- Site investigation field trips to project sites, as required, to collect all pertinent data and refine or develop project scope by inspection of existing conditions and through meetings with sponsoring activity.
- Quality assurance reviews of drawings, specifications, calculations, cost estimates, and studies prepared by private architectural and engineering (A/E) design firms. Submittals are reviewed for completeness, functionality, sound engineering practice and compliance with DoD and NAVFAC criteria, and other applicable codes and standards.
- Technical administration of designs, design management, and coordination efforts with other engineers and architects involved in multidiscipline projects.
- Post construction award services (PCAS) including review and approval of contractor's submittals to determine that they conform to the requirements of the contract drawings and specifications.
- Reviews and approves shop drawings, samples of materials and components, catalog information, certificates of compliance, Value Engineering Cost Proposals (VECPs), and provides technical responses to Requests for Information (RFIs).
Salary: $87,230 - $113,395

Requirements for all NAVFAC Positions:
