My client is a propulsion-focused aerospace and defense company based in the Dallas, TX area. We are seeking a highly motivated individual, whose primary responsibilities will center around product life cycle management processes and the configuration management and data management for the company. This role will also be responsible for the administration of the data management system and processes associated with the PTC product suite to include Creo and Windchill. Applicants should possess an understanding of core Windchill functionality and be able to demonstrate practiced fluency applying that functionality towards organizational needs and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage configuration management processes and serve as the data manager for the company.
  • Provide administrative coverage for common recuring needs such as user management, access control, feature refinement and system fault monitoring.
  • Leverage administrative tools to maximize organizational alignment of both internal and external requirements, standards, & processes in a highly regulated industry.
  • Capture user feedback, concerns and suggestions to develop targeted solutions which are both intuitive and highly enabling for a multitude of end-users and applications.
  • Develop and iterate upon life cycle management templates, workflows & data management architectures to ensure the automated generation & indexing of a highly navigable “audit ready” technical archive of record.
  • Review, approve, and transmit configuration information externally to customer configuration management organizations and internally to affected departments in a manner which is timely, thorough and federally compliant.
  • Contribute to engineering change boards, design reviews, & organizational goals serving as both system administrator & senior advisor on all aspects of configuration management practices.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years of experience serving in configuration and data management role utilizing PTC Windchill.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (engineering or IT preferred) OR direct, commensurate & verifiable real-world experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of aerospace configuration management principles and practices
  • Functional competency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Power Point, OneNote)
  • Strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast-paced R&D environment
  • U.S. Citizenship

Preferred

  • Active or Previous Security Clearance
  • Experience developing custom Windchill user interfaces using JSP and Java.
  • Previous experience with change notification processes for defense customers
  • Familiarity with scripting and automated process development
  • Past experience managing multiple Windchill configuration variants of a common design baseline.
  • Management of engineering changes to an operational (fielded) weapons system with varying effectivities.
  • Familiarity with Export Control regulations.
  • Experience in a startup environment
  • Commanding fluency with WTPart/CAD integration and product structures.
  • Familiarity with Windchill APIs.
  • Experience with both aerospace hardware and software development campaigns
  • Experience working in both development and production environment
  • Experience with technical data packages for DoD acquisitions
  • Previous experience with MIL-HDBK-61 or similar CM methodology for defense hardware
  • Experience leveraging MBSE practices and digital engineering tools to implement
  • SAE EIA-649-1 compliant process controls at the organizational level
  • Functional competence navigating and querying common defense technical data repositories such as MEDALS, JEDMICS, DLA-ASSIST or similar legacy defense information systems.
