Biopharmaceutical Equipment Engineer
Location: Thousand Oaks, CA - Relocation candidates will not be considered.
Contract Duration: 1 Year
Target Pay Rate: $38/hour
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Biopharmaceutical Equipment Engineer for a 1-year contract in Thousand Oaks, CA. This position requires 100% onsite work Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM PT, with no remote work options.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)engineering troubleshooting, and biopharmaceutical process systems. The role involves providing system ownership for process and analytical equipment, leading engineering improvements, supporting troubleshooting efforts, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Ownership: Oversee Biopharmaceutical process and analytical equipment, identifying opportunities for improvements or upgrades, and leading the implementation of engineering-based changes. This includes developing business cases, identifying design requirements, and supporting the construction, startup, and validation of systems.
- Maintenance Coordination: Direct and coordinate equipment maintenance to ensure systems are functioning properly and in compliance with regulations.
- Commissioning & Qualification: Ensure that systems are properly commissioned and qualified, collaborating with inspectors as necessary to meet regulatory standards.
- Performance Monitoring & Risk Reduction: Monitor system performance to identify potential risks and implement strategies to mitigate them.
- Troubleshooting Support: Provide troubleshooting support to minimize production downtime, conducting technical root cause analysis and implementing corrective/preventive actions.
- New Product/Technology Support: Assist with new product/technology introductions by conducting engineering assessments, implementing equipment modifications, and supporting engineering runs.
- Compliance: Ensure systems are installed and operating safely, adhering to environmental health and safety regulations.
Basic Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in a related field, or
- Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of relevant engineering experience, or
- Associate’s degree and 6 years of relevant engineering experience, or
- High School Diploma/GED and 8 years of relevant experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
Top 3 Must-Have Skills:
- GMP Experience: Proven background in Good Manufacturing Practices within a biopharmaceutical setting.
- Troubleshooting: Strong experience in troubleshooting equipment and process issues to reduce production downtime.
- Engineering Expertise: Demonstrated engineering experience, specifically with equipment related to biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Industry Experience: At least 2 years of experience in drug product manufacturing, with a solid background in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, particularly in equipment related to filling, washing, and autoclaves.
- Skills: Experience with filling equipmentwashersautoclaves, and other biopharmaceutical systems. Ongoing plant support and troubleshooting experience are essential.
- Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree and 2 years of relevant experience is the minimum education and experience requirement. Candidates with PhDs will likely be overqualified for this position.

Physical Requirements:
