Job Description
Only qualified Biostatistician candidates located near the Pasadena, CA area to be considered due to the position requiring an onsite presence
Required Level of Education & Experience:
• Master’s Degree
• 5+ years of related experience
Specific Systems Knowledge Required:
• Programming SAS/R
Biostatistician Responsibilities:
• Carries out data management activities or provide direction to programmers to carry out data management activities
• Develops own statistical skills: Develops new expertise with statistical methods or software through self-study, courses, workshops, seminars
• Has special expertise in application of at least one type of statistical methodology
• Assists in disseminating research: Prepares written summaries of statistical analysis results for use at study meetings; may writes methods and results sections for peer-reviewed scientific publication; presents statistical analyses, methods, and results both within GHRI (at biostatistics group meetings, project team meetings, and formal seminars) and outside the Institute (at Group Health, national project, and/or national statistical meetings)
• Provides mentoring and develops statistical skills of others: Gives seminars or short courses on statistical methods; mentors other biostatisticians, staff, or students. Supports the development of novel statistical methods by senior statisticians
• Directs and conducts statistical analysis and provides statistical consulting: Coordinates data analysis activities, which may include writing analysis plans, writing statistical programs in SAS, STATA, and other programming languages, and directing programmers who write statistical programs; summarizes and interprets the results of statistical analysis, verbally and in writing for investigators and project teams; provides consultation to programmers and investigators regarding choice of statistical methods, use of statistical analysis programs, and interpretation of results; provides guidance to other biostatisticians, staff, or students as they carry out statistical analysis
• Assists in study design and planning

• Remote Hybrid (occasionally will need to come in for meetings)
