Job Overview
The Corporate Lean & Six Sigma Black Belt will play a central role in advancing operational excellence initiatives through Lean & Six Sigma methodologies. The role involves leading major cross-functional projects, deploying process improvements, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Success in this role relies on strategic thinking, project management expertise, and the ability to drive change across various departments and levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Support and Planning
- Actively participate in long-term and mid-term strategic planning, assisting in annual strategy sessions and value stream mapping to ensure alignment with company goals and budgeting processes.
- Project Leadership
- Manage high-impact Lean & Six Sigma projects (each valued at approximately $500K+), working closely with cross-functional teams to drive completion and impact. Create and coordinate a Lean & Six Sigma training plan to support project goals and track the success of initiatives.
- Process Improvement
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, supply chain, sales, and other business units to identify, prioritize, and execute process improvement opportunities. Utilize root cause analysis to address quality issues and enhance efficiency in asset utilization.
- Program Development and Deployment
- Establish a Lean & Six Sigma growth roadmap, developing and improving training content for White, Yellow, Orange, Green, Blue, Brown, and Black Belt certification levels. Coach team members to apply methodologies, achieve certifications, and meet project targets.
- Performance Metrics
- Define and implement key performance indicators to track the success of Lean & Six Sigma projects and program maturity. Manage automated dashboards, financial benefits tracking, project status, and certification workflows.
- Continuous Improvement
- Facilitate initiatives that enhance safety, support product innovation, and integrate data-driven analysis for better decision-making. Benchmark industry best practices and drive adoption of continuous improvement methodologies across teams.

- Exceptional organizational and communication skills

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (Engineering background preferred)
- Minimum 7 years in process improvement, quality, or operational excellence roles
- 5+ years in an environment with established Lean & Six Sigma programs
- 3+ years managing large-scale, cross-functional projects
- Strong Minitab skills with experience teaching others
- Willingness to travel as needed
- Lean Certification
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
- PMP or PRINCE2 project management certification
