Our Challenge:
As a Lead Java Developer, you will collaborate with stakeholders across the business to work on complex technical requirements. You will be responsible for managing multiple engagements, prioritize and resolve complex problems and escalate as necessary, in a fast-paced environment.
The Role
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance Java applications.
- Architect and implement microservices using Spring Boot and other relevant frameworks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Manage and optimize databases (Oracle, MongoDB, MySQL) and ensure data integrity.
- Utilize cloud platforms (PCF, Azure) for application deployment and scalability.
- Implement messaging solutions using Kafka and RabbitMQ for asynchronous communication.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Gradle and Docker.
- Ensure code quality through unit testing with JUnit and integration testing.
- Mentor and guide junior developers, conducting code reviews and promoting best practices.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to ensure smooth deployment and performance monitoring.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to incorporate into development practices.
Requirements:
You are:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in Java development with strong expertise in Java frameworks.
- Proficient in microservices architecture and RESTful APIs.
- Extensive experience with Spring Boot and related technologies.
- Strong knowledge of database management systems (Oracle, MongoDB, MySQL) and ORM frameworks (Hibernate, JPA).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly PCF and Azure.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker).
- Knowledge of messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ) and job scheduling tools (Autosys).
- Experience with API management tools like APIGEE.
- Strong understanding of Agile development methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
It would be great if you also had:
- Experience in front-end technologies, particularly React.
- Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment practices.
- Relevant certifications in Java, cloud technologies, or Agile methodologies.
