Job Title- Controls Engineer 2

Location-Tucson, Az(hybrid position)

Duration- 6-12 Months

Typical task breakdown:

  • Perform Software testing with SIL and in application for Battery Management System (BMS) software integration. Conduct deep dives for controls software issues to understand root cause and propose potential solutions

  • Data analysis across multiple Conformance, Performance and Validation test protocols

  • Conduct model reviews in Simulink

  • Support Lithium-Ion battery system performance and validation lab tests for software release

  • Support Lithium-Ion battery system testing, checking data quality, test result integrity and repeatability.

  • Write requirements, procedures, and reports and formally present on test outcomes.

  • Communicate technical information to internal and external customers, team members, and suppliers

Interaction with team:

  • Work with lead engineers within the team and with partner teams across the organization and cross departments

Work environment: Desk, lab, and sometimes if needed in the field for factory/machine application validation support

  • Be present in test facility and office. Work with other controls engineers in group to understand test and simulation requirements. Will set up and conduct tests/simulations and present results to the group

Education & Experience Required:

  • Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace or other Engineering degree

  • 2 to 4 years of experience required with the technical skills specified

Technical Skills (Required)

  • Matlab/Simulink, Control desk

  • Strong expertise in tools like CANape, ET, ECM and J1939 communication

  • Battery Management systems functional knowledge (Desired)

  • Control Systems knowledge including controls design

  • Knowledge of Software validation tools for unit testing and SIL

  • Plant Model integration- Knowledge of electrical components, switches, sensors, actuators, solenoids to manage HIL benches-

  • Embedded software knowledge.

  • Knowledgeable of Electrification and EV technologies.

  • Knowledgeable of products and previous Engineering experience working with will be a plus Soft

Skills (Required)

  • Self-starter, Organized, good at communication and collaboration in team settings, MS Office
