The SAFETY MANAGER is responsible for site safety. Accountable for the overall safety behaviors of the account. Operates the department in accordance with the approved Quality Assurance standards and Loss Prevention methods, while providing the Client with a safety first facility.

EHS MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES

SAFETY

  • Pre-Job Safety Reviews (STAs)
  • Review/Approve SDS for new chemicals for Facility Maintainance and Cleaning personnel
  • Weekly safety meetings for all Facility personnel
  • Responsible for Facility new hire safety training
  • Responsible for Contractor Site Safety and cGMP training
  • Accident investigation and reporting
  • Risk Assessments
  • Near Miss program - Use AZ Industry Safe system
  • Annual completion of OSHA 300A Form
  • Noise monitoring on as needed basis
  • Certified vehicle trainer for Facility Maint. personnel operating industrial vehicles
  • Track compliance of all Facility personnel for AZ and Facility online safety training programs
  • Review all Industry Safe hazards daily for Facility Maint. involvement
  • Assist AZ SHE with maintaining compliance with ESP and OSHA VPP programs
  • Review of high-hazard tasks involving Facility personnel prior to start of tasks
  • Air monitoring as needed for specific tasks

ENVIRONMENTAL

  • Chemical treatment of excess chemicals at on-site waste treatment facility
  • Wastewater Operator License (Class A) for AZ on-site wastewater treatment facility
  • DOT/IATA certification
  • Provide monthly wastewater data to AZ SHE for DMR reporting to IDEM
  • Responsible for scheduling and shipment of non-hazardous production waste thru Covanta and hazardous waste thru Clean Harbors for AZ SHE (AZ Contract)
  • Responsible for weekly waste (hazardous and non-hazardous) consolidation activities
  • Monthly reconciliation with AZ SHE of site sustainability numbers
  • Coordinate universal waste program for AZ SHE (e-waste, lights, batteries, used oil)
  • Asbestos/lead paint assessments via 3rd party lab on an as needed basis.
  • Coordinate pickup schedule for AZ microbiological waste from microbiology lab
  • Assist AZ SHE with annual waste reporting for IDEM and USEPA for site
