About the Role

Insight Global is seeking a Quality Manager to support several of their Lancaster site manufacturing plants. All three locations are within 1-2 miles of eachother and sit in the Industrial Motion division of Fenner, producing a variety of parts/products related to industrial machinery. For exmaple: a metal mesh used to create a converyor belt at a rock quarry or a more delicate mesh used in the food industry. The first six months will be spent at their Arcadia Road and Manheim Pike locations. These are established plants with seasoned teams. During this first 6 months, the Quality Engineer will be getting acquianted with the business, looking for areas of improvement,e tc. Then they will transition to a newer plant that was acquired in 2021 that has virtually no quality systems in place. This person will be responsible for fully implementing a quality system at this location. This role will report to the Director of Operations who is based at their Wilmington, NC site.

The quality engineer designs systems by which production quality can be checked in an ongoing process. In addition, he/she will work with the production team to implement any new testing criteria. Essential to the execution of these roles is the collection and analysis of data which is obtained from production or laboratory processes and effective collaboration within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary Quality Assurance resource to department supervisor(s) for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting and continuous improvement.
  • Develop, apply and document quality requirements and standards for the manufacture and inspection of product.
  • Design and implement methods for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection.
  • Establish supplier quality requirements and monitor and evaluate supplier performance.
  • Participate in internal and external quality audits.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, customers and internal process owners to resolve quality problems and assure that effective corrective action is implemented.
  • Working knowledge of the Lean / Six Sigma problem solving methodology.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong computer skills including QA applications, word processing, spreadsheets and databases.
  • Demonstrated history of taking initiative, meeting commitments and assisting in the creation of new tools or solutions to achieve business results.
  • High level of energy, personal accountability and integrity.
  • Highly detail oriented; checks own work, keeps accurate records, organizes information effectively.
  • Ability to take initiative, to meet deadlines, and to work in a team environment.
  • Support New Product Project teams to provide for smooth transition of New Products into the regular manufacturing process
  • Support Engineering, Manufacturing and Marketing with product improvements
  • Highlights potential quality issues to management in a proactive manner.
  • Responsible for documentation for first article inspections (PPAP)
  • Other duties as assigned.

Must Have Skills:

  • Self-Motivated, Doer – this is a small Quality team, we are looking for someone to really own quality
  • 3+ (More is better) years of experience in Quality
  • Experience with QMS Systems (Can teach E1, JDE)

Growth Opportunity

$110,000.00 to $115,000.00 per year annual salary.
