Power BI Developer

Optomi, in partnership with a leading steel manufacturing company, is seeking a Power BI Developer to deliver reports from their data lake. This company is working through an Azure data lake initiative and will be leveraging Power BI. The initial lift on the reporting side is quite high, so will utilize this Power BI Developer to help throughout this process.

Experience of the right candidate:

• 4+ years of BI development experience.
• Experience working with Dax Queries.
• Experience working with Semantic Modeling.
• Reporting and visualization experience.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience utilizing Business Intelligent tools such as Microsoft Power BI.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience developing, deploying, and managing Business Intelligence reports.
• Demonstrate understanding of key concepts in Business Intelligence architecture and report development.

Responsibilities of the right candidate:

• Cranking out reports (specifically within the finance and sales teams).
• Pulling data from Azure Data Lake.
• Move data from SAP reports into Azure Data Lake and make more sensible/usable.
• Dax queries.
• Semantic modeling.
• Self-motivated person who enjoys learning new technologies and staying current with Business Intelligence (BI) methodologies.
• Develop and support creative Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Work with the BI team on data modeling, analysis, and visualizations.
• Champion the use of the BI reports and dashboards within the organization.
• Work with business users and stakeholders at the Vulcraft divisions to determine priorities.
• Schedule, implement, and communicate improvements, change requests, and support items.
• Promote effective release and testing procedures for BI report and dashboard deployments.
• Help with user training of BI reports and dashboard releases.
• Coordinate efforts of technical changes required to create and modify reports and dashboards.
