W2 Contract-to-Hire

Salary Range: $83,200 - $104,000 per year

Location: Redwood City, CA - Hybrid Role

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Scientific Programmer to join our vibrant and innovative Computer-Aided Drug Discovery (CADD) team, where we bring together diverse talents to treat RAS(ON) addicted cancers. Our team is at the forefront of research, pioneering new methods and technologies in drug discovery. In this role, you will impact patients' lives by discovering medicines to address unmet medical needs using experimental and groundbreaking digital technologies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Determine, propose, and implement advanced methodologies, analyze data, and document research to identify protein-protein interface (PPI).
  • Test and develop new methods to predict and analyze protein-protein interfaces.
  • Iteratively improve and streamline computing pipelines, aiming for the production phase where non-experts can readily run it at scale.
  • Provide technical advice and solutions and serve as the primary point of contact for implementing and analyzing new methods, working with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary project teams to facilitate effective decision-making.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • MS degree and 5 years of industry experience or PhD degree in physical sciences (e.g., Chemistry, Physics, Biology, or Chemical Engineering), quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics), or equivalent industry research experience
  • Domain knowledge in protein structure-function, protein-protein interfaces, bioinformatics, and machine learning applications such as AlphaFold, ESM, Rosetta, RF Diffusion, and MaSIF
  • Experience in scientific programming languages such as Python, numerical methods, and scientific computing
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with scientists at different levels in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Able to work with software packages/GitHub repositories, test, and use them.
  • Experience working in HPC environments to optimize processing time and resource utilization.
