Maintenance Supervisor – Milwaukee Shredder Location
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead and oversee maintenance activities at our Milwaukee Shredder location.
ABOUT THE JOB
- Lead and participate in the maintenance and repair of mobile equipment, shredders, and facility infrastructure, including electrical repairs.
- Manage parts inventory and repairs for mobile equipment.
- Oversee the management of contractors, parts inventory, equipment maintenance tasks, troubleshooting, and documentation for the shredder.
- Handle property maintenance, oversee contractor work, and manage annual inspections.
- Promote plant safety programs and procedures that comply with company and regulatory standards, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Provide mechanical expertise to minimize equipment downtime.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records for equipment status and maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with the department and facility managers regarding equipment availability.
- Work with vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective service delivery.
- Oversee all maintenance and preventive maintenance programs, including troubleshooting, repairs, and hands-on maintenance work.
- Evaluate equipment reliability and implement improvements to enhance performance.
- Identify technical issues and provide practical, appropriate solutions based on project complexity.
- Cross-train and support other functions or processes as needed.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
ABOUT YOU
- 3-5 years of experience leading a maintenance function required.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Strong understanding of hydraulics and electrical systems.
- Two-year AAS (technical degree) or technical certification in welding, hydraulics, electrical systems, or industrial mechanics preferred.
- Experience in welding and fabricating work is preferred.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting low voltage circuitry (24V, 12V, or 10V).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on timely follow-up and clear, respectful, and constructive communication.
- Familiarity with heavy mobile equipment such as forklifts, loaders, and material separators is a plus.
- Ability to lift 30-50 pounds.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel to communicate and track information.
- Valid driver’s license required.
