Position OverviewWe are looking for a dedicated Estate Planning Paralegal with at least 3 years of experience in estate planning, probate, and trust administration, specifically with knowledge of the California Probate Code. This role will support attorneys in preparing estate plans, managing probate processes, and administering trusts. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to handle sensitive information with the utmost discretion.
Key Responsibilities- Assist attorneys in drafting, reviewing, and finalizing estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance healthcare directives through WealthCounsel and Lawgic.
- Coordinate probate processes, including preparing petitions, inventories, accountings, and other documents required by the California Probate Code.
- Manage trust administration tasks, such as drafting correspondence, preparing trust distribution documents, and maintaining accurate records.
- Conduct research on probate laws, estate planning strategies, and related legal matters as needed.
- File and manage legal documents with courts and other relevant agencies.
- Communicate with clients, financial advisors, and other professionals regarding estate planning and trust administration matters.
- Track deadlines, manage files, and maintain organized records for estate planning and probate cases.
- Assist in managing client intake, scheduling meetings, and ensuring effective communication and follow-up with clients.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal in estate planning, probate, and trust administration.
- Strong working knowledge of the California Probate Code and estate planning procedures.
- Paralegal certification or equivalent education.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in legal research and document management software.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple cases simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Comfortable with a hybrid work schedule, requiring both remote work and occasional in-office presence.
