Education, Experience, and Skills
? 5+years of experience in audio post production
? Bachelor’s degree in Audio Engineering or related field preferred
? ProTools experience preferred
? Proven track record of producing high quality audio series or scripted content
? Demonstrated mastery in dialogue editing, sound design, music editing, and mixing/mastering
? Adequate home studio with quality monitoring preferred
? Excellent attention to detail and a keen ear for sound quality
? Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team across time zones
? Strong organizational and time management skills
? Fluency in American audio entertainment.
Responsibilities & Expectations
Project Management:
? Maintain creative quality from raw VO to final mix and master
? Manage project timelines and ensure deadlines are met
? Communicate effectively with writers, directors, and producers to achieve goals
? Mentor, provide guidance, and collaborate with Jr Sound Engineers
Dialogue Editing
? Evaluate raw VO and determine if it meets Pocket FM standards
? Edit and mix VO for clarity, consistency, and sound quality
? Understand the creative nuances of dialogue pacing, tonality, emphasis, and performance
Sound Design and Music
? Mastery of sound design; create, edit, and mix different forms of SFX (foley, ambience,
unique effects and soundscapes, etc.)
? Source SFX and music from libraries
? Good musical taste and sensibilities, being able to identify what music is needed to fit a scene from a script
? Ability to edit music stems to sync with story beats, and add to or modify music to meet creative needs
Mixing and Mastering
? Mastery of mixing fundamentals, techniques, and industry standard practices
? Deep understanding of loudness, compression, limiting, EQ, and reverb
? Use volume automation to balance the elements in a mix and enhance the story
? Utilize templates to adhere to Pocket FM workflows, and be able to modify as needed
? Consistently output final deliverables per Pocket FM specs with minimal error
