Deerpath is focused on providing debt capital for acquisitions, refinancings, ownership transitions and growth capital to companies in the U.S. lower middle market. Primary Responsibilities
The Vice President, Research Specialist (“Research Specialist”) will support the Head of the Product Specialist Group within the Investor Relations team by leading all research initiatives within the firm. Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Become a subject matter expert on the firm and its history, investment strategy, products, structures, performance and competitive market landscape in order to support global fundraising efforts
- Lead comprehensive research on market trends, industry developments and competitive positioning to support investor communications
- Collaborate with other Investor Relations team members to develop and refine research strategies and methodologies
- Collaborate with members of other Deerpath verticals to gather and analyze firm and market data to be utilized in marketing materials
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis related to the Private Credit/Direct Lending market environment, trends, performance, competitive landscape and other aspects of Deerpath’s business
- Lead the creation and preparation of quarterly and ad hoc updates, both related to Deerpath as well as the overall market
- Monitor and analyze economic indicators, private market events and market wide financial performance
- Synthesize complex market trends and effectively communicate and present them to both internal and external stakeholders
- Create ad hoc marketing materials related to all aspects of fundraising and client service initiatives
- Generate whitepapers, reports and research analyses to be distributed to Deerpath’s current and prospective investor base
- Utilize external databases, platforms and publications to support research conclusions
Skills & Experience
- Undergraduate degree with an excellent academic background
- 10 years of financial services-related experience, minimum of 5 years of research experience
- Knowledge of alternative asset funds is required
- Strong interpersonal skills, and ability to build relationships and work with investors and professionals across functional lines within the organization
- Self-motivated and proactive individual with the ability to work independently
- Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage multiple, parallel responsibilities and work in a fast-paced environment
- Entrepreneurial spirit with ability to construct creative solutions
