Business Operations Specialist
Etched, Cupertino, CA, United States
About Etched
Etched is building AI chips that are hard-coded for individual model architectures. Our first product (Sohu) only supports transformers, but has an order of magnitude more throughput and lower latency than a B200. With Etched ASICs, you can build products that would be impossible with GPUs, like real-time video generation models and extremely deep chain-of-thought reasoning.
Job Overview:
The BizOps, GTM (Go-to-Market) lead will focus on optimizing and driving execution across our go-to-market functions, including sales, marketing, and customer success. You’ll work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to identify bottlenecks, streamline processes, and deliver insights that accelerate growth. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, process-oriented, and has a passion for scaling startups through data-driven strategies.
Responsibilities:
- GTM Strategy
- Partner with sales, marketing, and customer success teams to develop and implement strategies that drive customer acquisition, retention, and growth.
- Sales Operations
- Optimize sales processes, tools, and workflows to improve efficiency and productivity. Manage the CRM (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot), ensure data accuracy, and support pipeline management and forecasting.
- Performance Metrics
- Develop and monitor KPIs across sales, marketing, and customer success to track progress toward growth targets. Provide actionable insights to leadership based on data analysis.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Serve as the operational link between GTM teams, product, and leadership to ensure alignment on key initiatives, timelines, and goals.
- Process Improvement
- Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in GTM workflows, and propose and implement improvements to drive growth and scalability.
- Financial Forecasting
- Support revenue forecasting, budgeting, and tracking to ensure alignment between operational activities and financial goals.
- Special Projects
- Take ownership of ad hoc projects that support growth, including new market entry, product launches, or strategic partnerships.
You may be a good fit if you:
- Have founded or are an early employee at a venture-backed, high-growth startup
- Have executed large, uncertain projects from end-to-end
- Have worked at a potential Etched customer (likely an AI company)
- Can juggle many different projects, learn quickly, and execute
- Are willing to do work that’s important and not sexy
- Spot problems and speak up when you disagree
- Take ownership and are comfortable making important decisions
We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification.
Strong candidates may also have experience with:
- Deep understanding of AI, hardware, and/or semiconductors
- Deep understanding of the AI research field and broader market
- Personal connections with AI labs and researchers
How we’re different:
Etched believes in the Bitter Lesson. We think most of the progress in the AI field has come from using more FLOPs to train and run models, and the best way to get more FLOPs is to build model-specific hardware. Larger and larger training runs encourage companies to consolidate around fewer model architectures, which creates a market for single-model ASICs.
We are a fully in-person team in Cupertino, and greatly value engineering skills. We do not have boundaries between engineering and research, and we expect all of our technical staff to contribute to both as needed.
Benefits:
- Full medical, dental, and vision packages, with 100% of premium covered, 90% for dependents
- Housing subsidy of $2,000/month for those living within walking distance of the office
- Daily lunch and dinner in our office
- Relocation support for those moving to Cupertino
