As a growing organization, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Civil Transportation / Traffic Engineer to join our team in Chicago. This position will provide the opportunity to manage and work on engaging transportation infrastructure projects.

Job Description

Under direction, the Civil Engineer performs engineering design tasks related to roadway geometrics, drainage, maintenance of traffic, pavement markings, signage, traffic signals, and traffic engineering studies. The position will require a self-starter that can independently learn the standard processes and procedures that will be used to design and deliver a variety of roadway transportation projects. The Project Engineer must be able to deliver multiple tasks for various engineering leads while meeting deadlines and adhering to budgetary constraints. Qualified candidates will have a background in roadway/highway design.

Tasks

  • required aspects of roadway engineering based on a solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and some advanced concepts under the direction of lead engineers.
  • lead engineers with technical and management collaboration.
  • with lead engineer for project progress and status reports, schedule, and budget.

Tracks the progress of deliverables, client reviews, technical input, and comment resolution.

  • as lead engineer on smaller projects.

Skills + Qualifications

  • in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
  • Years of transportation design experience, preferably with IDOT.
  • Communication skills and a positive attitude.
  • written and verbal communication skills.
  • attention to detail and accuracy; commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Skilled with CAD/Design software (OpenRoads Designer, Microstation, and Geopak).

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
