Empower Semiconductor has an exciting career opportunity for an experienced Power Applications working out of our R&D headquarters in San Jose, CA.

Core Responsibilities / Essential Functions:

The position will be responsible for developing board level power solutions ranging from demonstration platforms to custom solutions for a wide range of applications. The candidate will have a dual role that is product and solutions focused (AE) as well as a customer application engineering role (FAE) to support evaluation and integration into customer designs. We are a team of highly experienced power experts that is enabling true vertical power delivery as well as chiplet power solutions integrated into modern SoCs.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Minimum 10 years of experience in board level power design
• BSEE required; MSEE in power electronics preferred
• Proven track record of fostering long term relationships with strategic customers based on trust, expertise and professionalism
• Knowledge of DC-DC converter system design and analysis
• Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment
• Experience in PCB design and optimization (schematic and layout) using CAD
• Experience using simulation and design tools including Spice, Simplis, ADS and other SI/PI tools.
• Experience in PDN and power integrity analysis a plus
• Knowledge of programming languages and tools for automated testing and prototyping such as python
