Job Title: Junior Operations Analyst

Location: Boston, MA

We are seeking a Junior Operations Analyst to join our client’s dynamic investment operations team. This role will provide essential support for the operational and accounting aspects of a sophisticated portfolio, including both direct trading and alternative investment strategies. The successful candidate will primarily focus on the Alternatives portfolio, playing a pivotal role in the execution and enhancement of key operational processes. These include investment reporting, data management, treasury activities, data validation, and oversight of third-party administrators.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process daily investment reports, pricing updates, and capital activity for the portfolio.
  • Oversee AI-based document collection and data extraction tools, ensuring accuracy in downstream systems such as the data warehouse, research management system (RMS), and accounting platforms.
  • Research and resolve discrepancies in transaction records, profit and loss statements, and valuation reports across internal systems, third-party administrators, banks, and other counterparties.
  • Collaborate with third-party administrators during accounting closes to validate performance metrics, capital activities, and other investment data for both internal analytics and investor reporting.
  • Produce and deliver internal and external reports, including investment exposure summaries, hedge fund performance attribution, fund performance, and ad-hoc reports as needed.
  • Participate in deal closing and execution workflows, investment profiling, and other operational activities, including legal amendments and external communications.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience within investment operations or a similar field.
  • Strong communication skills, technical aptitude, and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with software such as Advent Geneva, Bipsync, Canoe Intelligence, SQL, Power Query, Spotfire, or PowerBI is preferred.
