General Summary:

The Continuous Improvement Coordinator is responsible for the identification, planning, execution and monitoring of supply chain continuous improvement initiatives with a specific focus on improving existing processes, managing cost and integrating third-party services.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and cost reduction efforts.
  • Implements cost-saving measures and track their effectiveness over time.
  • Fosters a culture of continuous improvement and cost-consciousness across the organization.
  • Follows a metrics-driven approach for continually reviewing and improving organizational performance.
  • Discovers organizational gaps that increase costs and hinder greater productivity. Analyzes the company’s processes and suggests improvements.
  • Uses available tools to map, analyze and redesign internal processes in order to enhance efficiency, reduce waste and achieve better results.
  • Ensures efficiency by implementing improvement strategies that align with company goals.
  • Stays informed about industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices to maintain the company’s competitive edge as it relates to continuous improvement and cost.
  • Serves as the primary Honda Aircraft continuous improvement liaison between the Business Office and internal cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Ensures compliance with procurement guidelines, company policies, and strategic company objectives.

Education, Work Experience, Certification and/or Licensure:

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year accredited university required. Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or Business Administration preferred.Minimum of 3 years’ experience in project management, process improvement, or related roles.
  • MBA degree from an accredited university with a focus on Supply Chain Management preferred. Minimum of 0-5 years’ experience in project management, process improvement, or related roles.
  • Previous experience in a directly related procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or project management role within aviation/aerospace manufacturing industry is preferred, but not required.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent writing ability with prior experience in presenting information to diverse audiences.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Proficiency in SAP preferred.
  • Self-motivated nature with an ability to work independently with minimum supervision and simultaneously manage multiple projects.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships with suppliers and all levels of company personnel.
  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to clearly and concisely present data.

Physical Requirements:

  • Incumbents may be routinely exposed to equipment operational noise, heat-cold-dust, and/or aircraft equipment, parts, or fuel odors.
  • Incumbents may be required to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, move, reach, or stretch for prolonged time periods with no restrictions, as required by job duties.
  • Ability to work in a safe and professional manner while adhering to all regulatory requirements (FAA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, State and Federal regulations, etc.).
  • Ability to read, hear, speak, and see with no restrictions, as required by job duties.
  • Ability to comprehend and adhere to management directions and/or safety instructions with no restrictions.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in Business English language.
  • Ability to pull, push, carry, lift, or move items up to 10 lbs. throughout the work shift without assistance, as required by job duties.
