Must Haves:

  • Strong knowledge of utility systems - HVAC systems, chiller operations, and compressed air systems
  • Experience with energy optimization and sustainability projects
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience with deviation investigations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities

Pluses:

  • Master's Degree in Engineer or related field
  • Experience with magnetic bearing chillers and hydrogen fuel cells

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Utility Engineer to join a pharmaceutical manufacturing client in the Wilson, NC area. The Utility Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing various utility systems within our facility. This role involves managing multiple projects aimed at improving efficiency, sustainability, and reliability of our utility infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Compressed Air System Optimization: Identify and minimize leaks to enhance system efficiency.
  • Air Change Rates Management: Monitor and adjust air change rates to ensure optimal environmental conditions.
  • HVAC System Management: Oversee temperature control on HVAC skids and optimize economizer operations.
  • Chiller Operations Improvement: Enhance the performance of existing chillers and manage the replacement of two chillers with magnetic bearing chillers.
  • Water Systems Optimization: Improve water systems in laboratories to ensure efficient and reliable operation.
  • Generator Replacement: Oversee the replacement of existing generators to enhance reliability and efficiency.
  • Facility Upgrades: Manage the upgrading of doors, windows, fences, and general facility equipment to improve security and functionality.
  • Fuel Cell Installation: Lead the installation of hydrogen fuel cells or natural gas cells to support sustainable energy initiatives.
  • Boiler Replacement: Replace three boilers to reduce fossil fuel consumption and improve energy efficiency.
