Application Engineer

Job Title: Applications Engineer/Designer – Americas

We are seeking an Applications Engineer/Designer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and developing proposals for aftermarket equipment and systems that address our customers' unique needs. As a key player in customizing existing machinery, you'll ensure that project quotes and bids are delivered accurately and on time.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and prepare proposals for customers, including machine layout drawings and system modifications.
• Create and propose innovative concepts that align with market trends and contribute to standard product line development.
• Ensure equipment solutions meet customer safety and electrical specifications.
• Accurately estimate project costs and secure OEM proposals from external vendors as needed.
• Support the sales team by responding to customer inquiries and collaborating with internal departments to deliver high-quality quotes.
• Act as the liaison between the customer and Switchback, providing technical expertise and packaging solutions.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 3-5 years of experience in quoting or engineering for capital equipment, preferably in automation, robotics, or packaging.
• Degree or technical education in Mechanical Engineering, with a focus on robotics, automation, and controls (or equivalent experience). Electrical/controls experience is preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and/or Inventor.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, with a customer-focused approach.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work effectively across teams

Working Conditions:

• Primarily office-based, with occasional visits to the assembly floor and warehouse.
• Use of AutoCAD and relevant software is essential.
• Some travel and extended working hours may be required to meet deadlines.
