Lead UI Engineer

Our Cleveland client has retained us to identify a Lead UI Engineer. The ideal candidate aligns with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of high-quality user interfaces that are efficient, responsive, and visually appealing.
• Work closely with UX designers, product managers, and backend engineers to translate requirements into seamless, intuitive UI components and experiences.
• Implement and enforce UI best practices, coding standards, and development workflows to ensure consistency, performance, and accessibility.
• Architect and optimize front-end applications for maximum speed and scalability.
• Lead code reviews, provide feedback, and mentor junior UI engineers to elevate technical standards and collaboration within the team.
• Stay updated on the latest industry trends, frameworks, and tools to drive innovation and incorporate emerging best practices into the development process.
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues, cross-browser compatibility, and other front-end challenges.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in front-end development, with a focus on building responsive, user-centered interfaces.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3, along with experience with modern JavaScript frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Solid experience with UI/UX design principles and experience working closely with design teams.
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs and experience integrating front-end applications with backend services.
• Proficiency in modern front-end build pipelines and development tools, including Webpack, Babel, Git, and npm/Yarn.
• Experience with performance optimization, debugging, and testing frameworks such as Jest, Mocha, or Cypress.
