Journeyman Electrician

Pay: $33.00 - $40.00 per hour

Location: In-person

Schedule: 8-hour shift

Job Overview:

We seek a skilled Electrician to repair and maintain electrical and electronic equipment. This role requires a proactive approach to troubleshooting and problem-solving in an industrial environment.

Education & Licensing:

  • Must possess a Massachusetts Electrical License.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required.

Skill Requirements:

  • Problem-Solving
  • Basic math skills and knowledge of simple industrial equipment.
  • Ability to identify operational problems and provide effective remedies.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and move pallets weighing up to 1,000 pounds using material handling equipment.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces.
  • Strong independent judgment skills for nonstandard procedures.

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of two years of experience as an industrial electrician.
  • Technical Requirements:
  • Proven troubleshooting skills and ability to read a variety of electrical meters.
  • Proficiency in setting up and using a wide variety of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to perform simple electrical calculations and read blueprints and schematics.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform remedial repairs and installations related to electrical equipment and facilities.
  • Tasks include replacing lights and fuses, bending and installing conduit, pulling and terminating wires, and overhauling relays, circuit breakers, electric power motors, and motor bearings.
  • Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and from ladders at heights up to 40 feet.
  • Maintain a variety of electrical and electronic equipment, including replacing defective contactors and modules.
  • Responsibilities also include snow removal, painting, cleaning, and hazmat duties.
  • Maintain a variety of electrical and electronic equipment, including replacing defective contactors and modules.
  • Knowledge of operating volt-ohm meters, oscilloscopes, continuity testers, wire tracing equipment, and other tools used in electrical duties.
  • Troubleshoot Equipment:
  • Conduct PLC troubleshooting as well as installation.
  • On-call availability as needed
