Job Summary
The Site Manager is responsible for the successful operations of the plant which include general supervision of all phases of production, quality control, equipment maintenance, procurement, receiving and shipping. Responsibilities also include recruiting, hiring and training of personnel. In this role, the Site Manager will have responsibility and accountability for site bottom line results.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for establishing the highest standards for manufacturing operations, from housekeeping to safety and maintenance
- Providing exceptional leadership to staff, assessing performance, and directing all operational activities to ensure safety, product quality and consistency
- Analyze workforce requirements
- Hire, supervise and train or oversee training of employees in the use of equipment or new production techniques
- Ensuring workplace safety through implementation, adherence and enforcement of company standards, as well as safety programs. Ensure employees are properly trained and equipped to perform tasks safely
- Conduct performance appraisals and provide coaching and guidance to all operations employees
- Determine and monitor plant KPIs
- Develop and implement plans to efficiently use materials, labor and equipment to meet production targets
- Plan and implement changes to machinery and equipment and methods of work
- Promote operational excellence and a culture of continuous improvement for driving high productivity
- Ordering Sand or ensure sand ordered in a timely manner
- Support Techniseal Corporate to negotiate contract for sand
- Support Techniseal Corporate for procuring and profitably negotiating raw materials, setting up logistical details to ensure availability to meet production demand
- Purchase equipment/parts/services to successfully operate the facility
- Implement and sustain a solid equipment preventative maintenance program
- Develop equipment maintenance schedules and recommend the replacement of machines
- Responsible for financial performance of own facility (budget & forecast, labor variance, inventory management, workforce and capital planning)
- Meet or exceed production variance goals
- Implement quality control programs and monitor product standards
- Ensure good customer service for the shipping of the orders on-time
- Responsible for the inventory
- Responsible for site IT issues
- Maintain a positive working relationship with regulatory agencies and work with Corporate to get Waste Management Permit and Air Permit
- Perform other tasks/responsibilities as assigned
Job Requirements
- Extensive experience in manufacturing management and strong understanding of manufacturing/receiving/shipping processes
- Good understanding and working knowledge of problem-solving, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement tools (DMAIC, Lean 6 Sigma, Kaizen, etc.) is a plus
- Mechanically inclined and must be able to assist and supervise third party or local employees for the maintenance or optimization of equipment
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in pertinent field
- 5 plus years manufacturing leadership experience
- Up to 10% overnight travel
