Gravity IT Resources, Tampa, FL, United States
Job Title: Business Process Engineer
Location: Tampa, Florida or Pompano Beach, FL (5 days Onsite)
Work Authorization: USC/GC Holder
Job Type: Direct Hire
Position Overview:
The Business Process Engineer will assume a “hands-on” role to document, analyze and review current “as-is” business processes across all functions in the organization, including multiple businesses and divisions. The successful candidate will work closely with the leadership team to evaluate current work processes and guide the design of optimized “to-be” business processes to improve efficiency, drive growth and enable a comprehensive digital transformation. You will play a key role in identifying and implementing cost-effective and ROI-focused SaaS solutions to enable new and existing business processes, with a focus on providing the business with key data to make better operational decisions.
The Business Process Engineer role will also lead consolidation efforts across support (e.g. Finance, HR, IT) and core functions (Marketing, Sales, Operations) to create economies of scale. The reengineering projects led by the Business Analyst will be rooted in common sense—avoiding overcomplication and delivering practical, effective solutions. As the transformation progresses, your role will evolve from analyst to project manager, and eventually, into an operating role and leadership position within our platform, contributing to future acquisitions and driving the company’s strategic growth.
Responsibilities:
- Lead “hands-on” business process transformation efforts day-to-day, including the following key areas of focus:
- Interviews: Speak with functional business leaders across Marketing, Sales, Operating, Finance, IT and HR to determine how things are “done” today.
- Process Documentation: Lead efforts to analyze, map, and document existing business processes across construction, supply chain, sales, finance, HR, and IT functions – identifying areas for improvement.
- Optimization and Best Practices: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify best practices and create efficient “to-be” processes that provide relevant data for decision-making and improves revenue, controls costs and drives profitability.
- Digital Transformation: Identify and implement cost-effective SaaS platforms that support business functions, ensuring they drive efficiency and deliver clear ROI in both time and cost savings.
- Project Management: Lead the change management and project execution function, balancing efficiency gains with minimal disruption to team members’ current KPIs and objectives.
- Playbook Creation: Develop a proprietary “operating playbook” for continuous improvements that will support future acquisitions and post-merger integrations.
- M&A Integration: Apply process and playbook knowledge to future acquisitions, ensuring successful integration and growth.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in any major, provided candidate has a strong background in business process reengineering, business analysis, or consulting.
- 3-4 years of experience in a consulting firm (e.g., business process analysis, process reengineering, digital transformation, or IT consulting with a business focus).
- Strong competency in interviewing stakeholders to uncover current processes and roadblocks.
- Demonstrated experience in documenting and improving business processes, with an ability to develop detailed process maps and optimization strategies.
- A solid understanding of how cost-conscious, ROI-focused digital tools and SaaS solutions can drive business transformation.
- Proficiency in business process mapping tools (Visio, Lucidchart) and familiarity with SaaS platforms and ERP systems.
- Comfort in evaluating digital tools, designing IT transformation processes, and implementing software solutions that streamline and optimize workflows while remaining cost-effective.
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues whose focus is on existing line functions, ensuring the transformation process doesn’t negatively impact their KPIs or disrupt their current objectives.
- A patient, empathetic approach - balancing the need for transformation with respect for the day-to-day realities of a busy team.
- A down-to-earth, practical mindset that values common-sense solutions over unnecessary complexity.
