Job Description: As the Set Construction Manager at Depict, Inc., you will oversee the
construction and assembly of sets and props for our diverse range of projects. Working closely
with production and event designers, you will transform creative concepts into immersive
environments. This role demands strong leadership, technical proficiency, and meticulous
attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of fabrication and construction, from the initial quote, along with any
- revisions, to planning, budgeting, scheduling, execution, and strike.
- Translate client reference images and drawings into tangible sets and environments.
- Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, and crew members to ensure efficient
- timelines.
- Oversee procurement of materials and equipment essential for fabrication.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards on site.
- Supervise construction and scenery crew members, providing guidance throughout
- projects.
- Resolve issues promptly and effectively.
- Provide accurate records of expenses, inventory, and project progress.
- Availability for weekend and overtime hours as needed to meet project deadlines.
- Maintain a safe and efficient warehouse; including overseeing and scheduling necessary
- repairs.
- Review and confirm employee hours to facilitate payroll processing.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Set Construction Manager in film, television, or events.
- Deep knowledge of construction techniques, materials, and tools used in scenic carpentry.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Leadership and communication skills to manage a diverse team and collaborate across
- departments.
- Proficiency in reading and utilizing drawings and other reference images.
- Understanding of budgeting and cost control procedures.
- Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced production environment with changing requirements and schedules.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and SketchUp.
- Professional appearance and demeanor in representing the company.
