Primary Representative Duties
- Respond to and log help desk calls and e-mails.
- Diagnose systems operations, hardware, software, and operator problems.
- Perform troubleshooting to correct user problems and follows-up until solution is found.
- Perform and/or recommend remedial actions to correct software, hardware, equipment, or systems problems.
- Provide information and instruction to users on various applications, equipment, and manuals.
- Conduct routine support of network systems, electronic mail systems, and communication devices.
- Install hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, scanners, projectors, audio-visual, and other devices.
- Load specified software packages such as operating systems, word processing, or spreadsheet programs, and verifies correct system operations.
- Repair computers and printers and replaces failed components.
- Create user accounts and assigns passwords.
- Maintain inventory of IT equipment, supplies, and software; disposes of automation equipment.
- Assist with maintaining eDiscovery platforms and software, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Collaborate with legal teams to facilitate the collection, preservation, processing, and review of electronically stored information (ESI) in compliance with legal requirements.
- Implement and support litigation support technologies, including document management systems and review platforms.
- Stay current with developments in eDiscovery technology and legal standards, recommending and implementing improvements as necessary.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to eDiscovery processes and tools, minimizing downtime and maintaining productivity.
- Rotate with other members of the IT Department for on-call duties which provide support to the firm during evenings and weekends.
- Provide support for office technology, including audio-visual equipment, mobile computing devices, and remote access including notebooks, iPhones, and iPads.
- Responsible for system moves such as: computers, monitors and phones.
- Perform end user training.
- Assist with trial technology including trial software and courtroom AV setups.
- Other duties as assigned.
Technical Skills/Abilities:
- Bachelors’ degree in Information and Computer Sciences, Management Information Systems, or related degree and/or equivalent experience in a related field (3-4 years of experience in a Help Desk or IT related field).
- Able to provide advanced troubleshooting for software and hardware.
- Proficient in all software of the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent writing and documentation skills.
- Ability to communicate at all levels within the Firm.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency and drive for results.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Law firm and/or eDiscovery/Litigation Support experience a plus, but not required.
The salary range for this position is $85,000-$95,000. Pay is determined based on depth of experience in the practice area. Associates are eligible to participate in RFL's associate bonus program, subject to the program’s conditions and restrictions.
