Plant Reliability Engineer in a Production Plant based in Danbury, Connecticut.
Salary: $80-110K/yr
Must Haves:
• A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Mechanical Engineer in industrial equipment reliability, rotating equipment, predictive maintenance strategy, dimensional
• Demonstrated meticulous attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Demonstrated mechanical ability.
• Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills.
• Project management and asset inventory management.
• Will be required to provide examples of past written policies and procedures.
Day To Day:
Under indirect supervision, this function performs regular inspection and preventative maintenance and aids in repair and maintenance of production related equipment to ensure safe operation and minimize unscheduled downtime. This person will develop and manage a best-in-class mechanical integrity program.
• Lead maintenance effort; direct maintenance technicians in proper maintenance of equipment and facilities.
• Interact daily with Maintenance Technicians and Process Operators to troubleshoot and help solve issue.
• Support EHS safety programs, compliance, emission and waste reduction.
• Help lead PSM movement within facility.
• Design preventive maintenance programs to insure optimum longevity and usage of plant and equipment. Participate on the Medical Response Team.
• Plans and coordinates routine maintenance of equipment.
• Maintains appropriate mechanical records and reports.
• Monitor & maintain plant equipment & machinery to ensure efficient production.
• Reviews & develops project plans for costs and timelines.
• Coordinates work performed by outside contractors.
• Mentors team members to grow their capabilities.
• Submits scope of work for each project that includes budgetary numbers and the goals of each projects including analytical reporting.
• Supports and follows safety policies and procedures within the plant.
• Review key performance indicators and monitoring systems and identify ways to improve the ability to maintain company operations.
• Directing plant personnel in proper methods and procedures of systems and equipment.
• Works collaboratively with production operators, engineers and the maintenance team.
• Reviews with maintenance technician PM / Equipment Work Order Records to ensure completion, accuracy of records and determines if PM frequency or scope changes are required and collaborates with engineering / operations if design or component changes are merited to reduce unscheduled or high frequency repairs.
• Reviews PM with OEM Manuals and OEM representatives to ensure comprehensiveness of PM and ensure repairs and findings from work are consistent with OEM recommended practices.
• Prepares reports on equipment down time due to maintenance activities by category. (i.e. Scheduled, break down, safety shut down)
• Develop SOP’s and Work Instructions to transfer simple PM to operations staff.
