To be considered for this role, you will have an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineer, Electronics Engineering or a related field and 3-5 years of experience in production engineering, particularly in the field of embedded electronic systems. The Embedded Electronics Production Developer is responsible for overseeing the production process of embedded electronic systems as well as translating the design artifacts into a producible product. This role assists and advises the Production Manager thereby ensures that manufacturing processes are consistent with IPC standards, efficient, and suitable for success in the competitive market, and meet quality standards. The engineer will work closely with the design and production teams to optimize manufacturing techniques, troubleshoot issues, and implement continuous improvements.
Job Duties:
- Generate assembly work orders, consolidated bills of materials, system configuration item hierarchies and continuity/isolation test pin lists.
- Implement drafting standards to maintain consistency in notes, layout and dimensioning schemes.
- Build and test prototype devices.
- Select materials for component parts and medical devices.
- Translate User Needs into Design Input Requirements to comply with regulatory requirements and best-practice standards.
- Help supervise and manage the production of embedded electronic test systems, ensuring that products are built to specification and meet the required quality standards.
- Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and lower production costs without compromising quality. Actively participate in design reviews to drive changes into the design to improve and ensure producibility.
- Identify and resolve technical issues that arise during production, working closely with the design and production teams to address any discrepancies between design and manufacturing.
- Work with cross-functional teams, including design, procurement, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless integration of production activities and to address any production-related challenges.
- Maintain detailed records of the production process, including process flows and work instructions. Ensure that all documentation is up-to-date and complies with industry standards.
- Lead initiatives to continuously improve production processes, incorporating feedback from post-production reviews and staying current with advancements in manufacturing technologies.
- Work with procurement team to coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure the timely delivery of materials and components, and that they meet the necessary quality standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in production engineering, particularly in the field of embedded electronics systems.
- Proven experience in optimizing production processes and quality assurance.
- Strong knowledge of embedded test systems and electronics manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in using CAD software and other relevant engineering tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex production issues.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively across different departments.
- Experience in a structured regulatory environment with advanced quality systems such as ISO13485, FDA cGMP, MDD, ISO 9001, AS9100, TS16949 or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience with embedded systems design and manufacturing is highly desirable.
- Experience with Embedded Electronics Test Systems is a plus.
- Certifications in IPC-610 and IPC-620 are a plus.
- Certifications in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or similar process improvement methodologies are a plus.
Compensation:
We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary rate of $100,000-$110,000 however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
