We have been retained by a leading manufacturer in the snack food industry to find a talented Vice President of Engineering! This company specializes in producing a variety of baked goods and snacks, with a strong focus on quality and tradition! The VP of Engineering leads the company's engineering team, focusing on its structure, effectiveness, and managing both annual and long-term capital expenditure plans. This role ensures alignment between strategic planning and the execution of capital projects. The VP of Engineering is responsible for implementing new equipment and processes, driving innovations, and collaborating with both external vendors and internal departments.

Role:

  • Administers and oversees capital expenditure plans, ensuring accurate tracking and accountability for capital spending.
  • Leads and manages all capital projects, ensuring on-time and on-budget execution, while collaborating with various departments.
  • Develops the annual Engineering budget, focusing on manufacturing and process-related expenses, and ensures effective team development and succession planning.
  • Researches and implements new manufacturing technologies, drives process improvements, and identifies innovative cost-saving initiatives through lean strategies.
  • Manages and leads the Plant, Project, Packaging, and Controls Engineering teams across multiple plants.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (MBA preferred.)
  • A minimum of 10+ years of experience in the food manufacturing industry, including baking and packaging.
  • A minimum of 10+ years of progressive leadership experience.
  • Robust experience in project management and execution of successful significant capital projects.
  • Extensive technical expertise in plant equipment, processes, and baking/food industry knowledge, along with experience managing complex projects.
  • Strong leadership, team building, and relationship management skills, with a focus on strategy development, problem-solving, and change management.
  • Proven ability to foster innovation, drive cost-saving initiatives, and lead continuous improvement projects to enhance efficiency and meet customer demands.
  • Able to travel periodically (est. up to 25%.)
