We are currently recruiting for a Legal Assistant to support a well-established law firm specializing in Community Association Law in Fort Lauderdale, FL. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with 1 to 5 years of experience in a legal assistant role who are looking to advance their career within a supportive and professional environment.

As a Legal Assistant, you will provide essential administrative and legal support to the firm’s attorneys, assisting with the preparation and filing of legal documents, case management, and client communication. This is a hands-on role suited for individuals who are highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review, and proofread legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and correspondence.
  • Assist with legal research and ensure the accurate and timely preparation of materials for hearings, trials, and client meetings.
  • Manage case files, track deadlines, and ensure that all necessary documents are filed and organized.
  • Coordinate attorney calendars, including scheduling meetings, depositions, and court appearances.
  • Maintain client communication, respond to inquiries, and relay information between clients, attorneys, and third parties.
  • Assist in the filing of documents with courts and other regulatory bodies, ensuring compliance with deadlines and local rules.
  • Handle general office duties such as answering phone calls, managing emails, and organizing office supplies.

Qualifications:

  • 1 to 5 years of experience as a Legal Assistant (experience in community association law or litigation is a plus).
  • Solid knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and document preparation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and able to maintain high levels of accuracy in all work.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
