Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Business Application Analyst to support the technology needs of multiple Distribution Centers (DC). This role is pivotal in monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing distribution center systems and ensuring that all associated products and modules function seamlessly. The Senior Business Application Analyst will serve as the key liaison between DC management and technical teams, supporting Warehouse Management System (WMS) functionality and ensuring that business needs are met with effective technological solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Distribution Center System Support:
- Provide end-to-end support for all distribution center system services, including WMS and associated peripherals (e.g., RF devices, printers, material handling systems).
- Ensure the proper functioning of WMS applications, modules, and associated technologies, serving as the primary point of contact for technical support within the DCs.
WMS Configuration & Releases:
- Manage WMS releases, configuration changes, and system modifications to meet operational needs.
- Coordinate testing, verification, and implementation of software upgrades, service packs, patches, and enhancements for WMS and related systems.
Training & Technical Support:
- Offer training to distribution center associates on WMS functionality and related equipment.
- Provide ongoing technical support for all aspects of WMS, including troubleshooting and resolving day-to-day issues.
System Integration & Process Improvement:
- Support the integration of various systems used within the DCs, ensuring efficient communication and data exchange between WMS and other systems.
- Research and recommend improvements to DC systems, utilizing both business and technical knowledge to drive efficiency, streamline processes, and enhance system performance.
Incident Management & Issue Resolution:
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, identifying root causes and escalating issues as necessary to ensure timely resolutions.
- Act as a liaison between DC operations teams and technical teams to expedite incident resolution and ensure continuous improvement in system functionality.
Project Management & Documentation:
- Manage IT projects within the DCs, ensuring that all deliverables are met on time and within scope.
- Develop test plans, coordinate user testing, and execute implementation plans for system updates and changes.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for software modifications, upgrades, and technical solutions.
Business Requirement Analysis & Solution Development:
- Work with business leaders to clarify business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Define technical solutions based on design requirements, working closely with technical teams to implement solutions that meet business needs.
Risk Management & System Change Requests:
- Prioritize system change requests from business leaders, assessing risks and developing mitigation strategies.
- Ensure that all changes are implemented smoothly and in alignment with business objectives.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
Experience:
- A minimum of five years of experience working with distribution center systems (WMS).
- At least three years of experience working with IT projects, ideally within a logistics or distribution center environment.
Technical Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of supply chainlogistics, and distribution functional concepts.
- Proficient in system terminology and concepts related to hardware, software, network configuration, and system integration.
- Familiarity with the integration of WMS, material handling systems, RF devices, and other hardware.
Problem-Solving & Communication:
- Excellent communicationinterpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to write clear, concise technical documentation and reports.
Software Skills:
- Proficient in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications:
WMS Specific Experience:
- Experience with Manhattan Associates WMi 2016 is highly preferred.
Technical Proficiency:
- Working knowledge of operating systems and databases commonly used in distribution center environments.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
Location:
This position is based at our North Carolina and Canada distribution centers. Occasional travel between sites may be required.
Travel Requirements:
Minimal travel required, primarily between the two distribution centers.
Physical Requirements:
There are no significant physical demands for this position, though candidates should be able to work in a warehouse/distribution center environment.
