Our Governance, Risk and Compliance Services (GRCS) professionals under Advisory Risk Services provide a range of assurance and advisory services to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of internal audit functions, enterprise risk management programs, third-party relationships, regulatory compliance, governance and sustainability initiatives. We analyze and assess an organization's business strategies and related business processes and systems to help management understand and address business objectives, requirements, risks, controls, and improvement opportunities. Our professionals bring both deep technical and industry experience, allowing clients to strengthen their key governance, risk management and compliance efforts while optimizing business performance.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the planning, execution, and reporting for GRCS engagements, and identifying and executing on practice development opportunities, in the Energy and Natural Resources (ENR) sector.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the planning, execution, and reporting for GRCS engagements, and identifying and executing on practice development opportunities, in the Energy and Natural Resources (ENR) sector.
What you will do
- Assist organizations in the ENR sector with the delivery of specialized internal audit, internal control (NI 52-109, SOX 404), business process, performance assessment, and regulatory compliance projects
- Facilitate risk assessments and advise on suitable strategies to manage risks
- Participate in the development and delivery of analyses, client engagement plans, deliverables, reports and presentations as well as reviewing the quality of the fieldwork and deliverables prepared by other engagement members
- Coach, develop, mentor and manage junior team members, including assisting with career development and critical skill development such as budgeting and planning, project management, people skills, among others
- Advise and help clients in the ENR sector in designing and implementing risk management frameworks from strategic to operational levels including risk strategy, appetite, governance, policies, culture and technology systems
- Deliver multiple simultaneous client engagements of varying size, scope and complexity
- Deliver high quality work that is on time and in compliance with the Firm's quality standards
- Engage with cross functional engagement teams comprised of diverse backgrounds and skill sets
- Provide oversight, supervision and project management of engagements of varying scope and size, including budgeting and forecasting, execution of project timelines, mentor and support other team members, and manage client relationships
- Assist with business development efforts including proposals, marketing material, and internal and external presentations in the ENR sector
What you bring to the role
- Minimum of 4 years internal audit, external audit (financial statements) and/or enterprise risk management experience
- Experience in preparing reports summarizing the results of the work completed and identifying recommendations which add value to the client
- Experience with understanding and documenting process narratives, flowcharts and controls
- Ability to write and lead proposals from origination to completion
- Experience in managing/leading teams and mentoring junior staff
- Experience in planning and scoping audit engagements including budgeting and staff allocation
- Mining, energy and natural resources experience is an asset but not required
- Understanding and application of one or more of the following frameworks and methodologies is preferred:
- COSO 2013
- Three lines of Defence
- Internal Controls over Financial Reporting and/or SOX 404
- Chartered Professional Accountant with designation / Chartered Professional Accountant Student OR Certified Internal Auditor with designation / Certified Internal Auditor Student is an asset
