Role: Product Operating Model Expert

Target Level: Principal or Senior Principal

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced consulting professional with product management expertise and depth. You will be responsible for driving consistent approaches and best practices across our organization and building competencies and upskilling product operating model experts who help our clients accelerate value realization.

What You'll Do
  • Develop and refine our frameworks and capabilities to enhance organizational alignment around value delivery, incorporating elements like product taxonomy, team structures, lifecycle, funding, and governance.
  • Build and manage a knowledge repository of best practices, tools, and frameworks to support the effective implementation of product operating models.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and ensure consistent application across projects, while fostering a community of expert practitioners for ongoing competency development.
  • Enhance collaboration and synergy across teams and departments, working closely with other capability leaders to maximize client value.
  • Support sales and client engagement activities by providing strategic advice and crafting tailored solutions for clients.
  • Operate as a sales engineer and subject matter expert (SME) in client deliveries, contributing 60-80% in a SME capacity.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to create proposals and materials that highlight Slalom's expertise and value.


What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience (8+ years) in product management, preferably in a consulting or advisory role.
  • Previously responsible for a sales target of $1 - $2.5M+ with active pipeline of client opportunities.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and developing teams.
  • Strong understanding of product management methodologies, frameworks, and best practices.
  • Experience in operating model design and activation.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to analyze complex business problems and develop innovative solutions.
  • Strong business acumen and client-centric approach.
  • Passion for continuous learning and staying up to date with industry trends.
  • Professional certifications in product management (e.g., Certified Product Manager, Agile Product Owner) are desirable.

Compensation and Benefits

Slalom prides itself on helping team members thrive in their work and life. Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary range for Principal is $122,000 to $225,000 and the target base salary pay range is $160,000 to $185,000. The base salary range for Senior Principal is $140,000 to $258,000 and the target base salary pay range is $185,000 to $210,000. In addition, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
