Overview

McGuireWoods LLP is seeking a Senior SharePoint Application Specialist to join our team. The Senior SharePoint Application Specialist is responsible for the overall design, building, testing and execution of SharePoint system design changes, updates and other initiatives. In addition, the Specialist will update sites, manage permissions, assess and resolve issues, prepare and maintain related technical documentation and perform other activities, such as providing direct support and training to SharePoint users.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the daily workflow and planning, development, installation, integration, testing, deployment and troubleshooting of the firm's SharePoint farm, as well as other web applications.
  • Responsible for the development and support of complex custom workflows and forms.
  • Configure and manage SharePoint security, permissions, and access controls to ensure proper content access and availability while maintaining defined security groups and visibility rules.
  • Maintain SharePoint infrastructure and security on development, staging and production server farms. Design and document application and/or system lifecycles to include installation, configurations and standard operating, monitoring and system restoration procedures, as well as recommendation to maintain, consolidate, retire or implement systems as they directly impact the firm's day-to-day business.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to IT as well as to the end-user as appropriate.
  • Help maintain architectural and lifecycle documentation of software and related systems, including but not limited to, documenting and maintaining integration standards and high availability/disaster recovery strategies.
  • Consult with management, stakeholders and program managers to identify, develop and implement development and integration process improvements to achieve new capabilities and benefits for clients.
  • Participate in IT enterprise-wide standards and policy development.
  • Create and develop system documentation related to system design diagrams, process design, deployment, system security, high availability/disaster recovery, and roll-out/roll-back planning.


Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in computer information systems, business administration or related field.
  • Requires a minimum of three years of experience on various system implementation projects focusing on Collaboration and Content Management Implementations.
  • Experience in planning, development, installation, integration, testing, deployment and troubleshooting major software systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server, SQL Server, and Active Directory.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 services and integration.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills.
  • Advanced technical knowledge of Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) 10.x.
  • Considerable knowledge of capabilities of information technology software, hardware and network communication technology.
  • Considerable knowledge of effective processes, methods and techniques to support business operations.
  • Ability to work on problems of diverse scope where analysis requires a comprehensive understanding of hardware/software systems solutions.
