Position: Senior Subrogation Representative

Location: Alpharetta/Atlanta, GA or Chicago, IL

On-site position

Education:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience including 10+ years in the Workers Compensation/Commercial Auto insurance industry handling subrogated claims

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • This position is responsible for the active management of subrogation claims
  • Review claim files to identify, evaluate, analyze and interpret subrogation potential. Coordinate appropriate steps to secure evidence and ensure pursuit, development and recovery of claims
  • Review insurance claims to identify third party liability
  • Investigate and review all potential avenues of recovery on viable claims
  • Investigate and review all claim activity to finalize coverage and liability position
  • Gather payments, data, and materials to support subrogation claims promptly
  • Advanced knowledge of the insurance industry or technical specialty
  • Maintain clear and specific notes in claims files for active subrogation claims
  • Knowledge of policy language/coverage
  • Knowledge of underwriting concepts, practice, and procedures
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of the law ad claim practices
  • Lead negotiations during case dispositions and provide timely and meaningful information to underwriters and actuaries
  • Attend mediations, settlement conferences to negotiate cost effective settlements, and trials as needed
