Accounting Manager

PURPOSE OF JOB:
As an Accounting Manager with Route 92 Medical, Inc., you will report directly to the Senior Accounting Manager and be part of our growing accounting and finance team. Primarily responsible for the month-end financial reporting including submitting journal entries over key financial statement line items, such as, cash, prepaids, receivables, accruals, debt, etc. There are plenty of opportunities for you to learn and grow by becoming involved and managing accounting projects, such as, internal controls implementation, accelerating month-end close timing, and improving key accounting processes. This role will provide the opportunity to oversee other accounting and finance professionals to help drive process improvements and achieve efficiencies.
You will have the opportunity to work with internal business partners from various departments, including Manufacturing & Operations, Sales & Marketing, Human Resources, Legal, and Finance. This open role is based out of our corporate offices in San Mateo, CA with a manufacturing facility in West Jordon, UT. This role offers a hybrid work schedule which is generally defined as 2 days in the office and 3 days remote from home.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage and supervise the accounting team, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of accounts payable and receivable, and general ledger activities
- Prepare account reconciliations, bridges, roll-forwards, journal entries
- Maintain compliance with policies and procedures, SOX controls, and US GAAP
- Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
- Actively involved in the annual financial statement audit and providing data requests to our auditors and other external constituents
- Assist with process improvements and implement best practices and implement new policies and procedures
PREFERRED EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Achieved passing the CPA license exam requirements
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Roots in "Big 4" - at least 3 years and obtained the title of Senior Associate or equivalent.
- Experience working for a public company with "Big 4: auditors and assisting with compiling data requests needed for financial statement audits
- Biotechnology, Medical Devices, and/or similar industry experience
- Experience working for a startup that went public or got acquired
- Experience in driving process improvements.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS:
- Proficiency with one of the commonly used accounting ERP systems, such as Oracle, SAP, NetSuite.
- Ability to keep internal and external business partner confidences
- Understanding of basic principles of finance, accounting, and bookkeeping.
- Minimum 5 yrs experience working within the corporate accounting function and/or similar
- Strong general ledger experience at a public company with expertise in various technical accounting topics
- Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be highly accurate and detail-oriented, with ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
