Overview
Nelson Mullins, an AmLaw 65 law firm, is seeking a Litigation Docketing Manager with at least 8 years of experience managing a litigation docketing department within a law firm. This is a great opportunity for a seasoned docketing manager to join a growing and dynamic law firm. The position is open in Columbia, SC, Atlanta, GA, Washington DC, Baltimore, MD or Charlotte, NC.
A Day in the Life
The Litigation Docketing Manager will lead, manage, and supervise the Firm's centralized litigation docketing department. In this role, you will have the opportunity to design, implement, and recruit for a centralized litigation docketing department. Once the centralized docketing department is established, you will supervise a team of docket specialists and clerks who track legal and filing deadlines for litigation matters in all relevant jurisdictions in multiple states. You will report to the Director of Administration & Operations with extensive interaction with Firm management and litigation partners.

You are a motivated self-starter with a high level of attention to detail and advanced problem-solving skills. You possess the ability to work with multiple projects and timelines in a high-volume transactional environment and work well in a team environment while independently following through your specific tasks from start to finish. You have demonstrated the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and the ability to provide quality service primarily to internal contacts at all position levels. You have a solid working knowledge of state and federal databases including PACER, File & Serve Xpress, ECFx, and a proficient understanding of civil practice law and procedures across multiple jurisdictions and states. You possess advanced knowledge of litigation case management systems, docketing software (CompuLaw Vision/Milana preferred), e-discovery, and electronic calendaring systems. Your use of internet resources as a research tool is advanced as are your skills in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. A bachelor's degree with a JD strongly preferred.

As the Litigation Docketing Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Lead and manage department, including annual budget and goals.
- Supervise department personnel, including coaching and evaluating personnel.
- Retrieve electronic documents in local, state, and federal courts and agencies, retrieval of requested documents from any available jurisdiction across multiple states, including California.
- Docket and calendar legal documents for Firm litigation teams.
- Respond to questions from attorneys and staff regarding procedural aspects of any legal venues the Firm may be engaged in.
- Complete all assigned docketing and calendaring work promptly and accurately.
- Review litigation documents for relevant dates and effectively utilize CompuLaw Vison/Milana SQL Rule Sets to enter applicable dates.
- Monitor changes to various states and federal procedures, summarize and communicate these to Firm litigation teams.
- Administer Firm internal docket database.
- Open and close cases in docket database.
- Coordinate new client transfers.
- Oversee work output by docket department employees.

- Salary/Wage Range: $150,000 - $185,000 annually
In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for performance bonuses, merit-based raises, and benefits such as healthcare, retirement plans, and paid time off.
