Uncrewed Systems Software Engineer
Key Role:

Support the research and development of robotic and unmanned systems across multiple operational domains and mission areas. Function at the intersection of software and hardware to design, build, test, and demonstrate new robotic capabilities that address complex client problems in sensing, autonomy, and human interaction. Apply advanced consulting and extensive technical expertise and full industry knowledge. Develop innovative solutions to complex problems. Work without considerable direction and mentor and supervise team members.

Basic Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of experience conducting robotics engineering software development, including implementing software and control schemes, integrating or troubleshooting payloads, such as actuators or sensors, and testing proper function and operation
  • 1+ years of experience in the design, development, implementation, evaluation, and support of functions of uncrewed and autonomous vehicles
  • Experience with common robotics programing languages such as Python or C++
  • Experience with open-source robotics frameworks such as ROS, PyRobot, or Orca
  • Ability to develop and maintain software and control systems that integrate with mechanical and electrical systems
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree


Additional Qualifications:
  • Experience conducting detailed design of production of uncrewed underwater vehicles based on performance requirements
  • Experience using design, modeling, and simulation tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, SolidWorks, or MagicDraw
  • Ability to derive and populate a state space model of vehicle dynamics, pose, and forces
  • Ability to manage and coordinate reference frame transformations and translations, including Body to NED
  • Bachelor's degree in ME, EE, CS, Robotics Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field preferred; Master's degree in ME, EE, CS, Robotics Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field a plus

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
