Overview: Horizon Farm Credit is recruiting for a Corporate Credit Analyst to join our team. We have one position available, and the qualified candidate will work in either the Mechanicsburg, PA, or Winchester, VA branch location. The hours of operations are typically, Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule after 6 months of successful employment. Position Description: In this position, you will accurately and efficiently analyze and underwrite large loan syndications and participations in our Capital Markets loan portfolio, as well as large agribusiness loans that are originated by Horizon. You will work closely with our Capital Markets lenders and Corporate lenders to analyze, originate, and service our largest loans, with minimal supervision. You will engage in business development and public relations activities to promote our service and maintain a positive Farm Credit image.

Areas of Responsibility include, but are not limited to:

Based on the Size, Scope, and Risk in the overall credit facility; complete the following:
  • Analyze financial information - accurately complete historical trends utilizing financial statements of Audit and Review quality. Also complete Probability of Default and Loss Given Default, pro-forma projections, consolidations, stress testing, source and use tables, debt repayment schedules, commodity worksheets, and any other necessary schedules, worksheets, and/or template tools available to adequately support the overall credit recommendation.
  • Prepare a professional, independent loan narrative that provides a strong summary of the financial analysis, addressing the applicable five C's of credit, highlighting risks and controls, credit strengths, and documenting weaknesses to support the credit recommendation. The analysis may be shared with other Banks, Associations, Federal Regulators, or outside reviewers.
  • Continue to study and be familiar with internal and external credit practices, loan products, and compliance standards to ensure sound and eligible credit recommendations are being completed.
  • Actively collaborate with Lending Staff to finalize credit recommendations.
  • Obtain proper delegated authority approval on credit recommendations.
  • Actively collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure loan system accuracy is obtained.
  • Quality review of your work to ensure accurate risk assessment of Probability of Default and Loss Given Default. Also ensure loan structure and covenants are appropriate given the Size, Scope, and Risk.
  • Effectively manage loan underwriting pipeline and meet targeted turnaround time for loan decisions. Maintain a high level of communication with lending and operations.
  • Monitor accounts for compliance with loan covenants and other ongoing conditions of the loan approval. Verifies assets and debts when necessary by using technology and resources available.
  • Support business development with joint visits to prospective and current borrowers. Attend lender meetings when requested. Other projects and/or research as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Agriculture, Economics, or Finance.
  • Generally, five to eight years of credit analysis/underwriting experience is preferred.
  • Sound understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and at least three years of experience analyzing GAAP-compliant financial statements.
  • Superior analytical skills sufficient to analyze very large and complex loans and/or loan syndications.
  • A thorough knowledge of commercial lending and related financial products and services and selling skills.
  • A general knowledge of agricultural lending is preferred.
  • Proficient interpersonal relations and computer skills.
  • Effective group presentation skills.
  • Demonstrates leadership as a mentor, trainer, and credit resources to less experienced staff.
  • May lead association initiatives and is a known resource across the association.
  • Expected to consistently exhibit values of ACRES as represented in HFC's Core Values.
  • Ability to be assertive and decisive in arriving at sound business decisions which serve the best interest of the association and borrower.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Regular, predictable, and reliable attendance is required.

Salary Range: $75,400 - $94,000, depending on experience.
