Civil Engineer 1

Amentum is currently searching for a Civil Engineer 1 to work in our Englewood, CO to perform a variety of engineering assignments in planning and overseeing research, development, design, manufacture, test, installation, operations, and maintenance of electronic equipment and systems and generally as a member of a design, analysis, or review team.

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Perform design, development or review tasks in specific areas under close supervision.

2. Design a portion or section of an analysis or design review.

3. Assist in generation of specifications and engineering data.

4. Assist in the preparation of reports and correspondence.

5. Establish and maintain a filing system or databases as needed for tracking project status.

6. Develop, maintain and produce technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications.

7. Interface with customers in design reviews and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specifications.

8. Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures.

9. Develop and maintain digital 3D model

10. Develop engineering drawings and sketches of medium complexity

11. Reviews other discipline drawings and vendor drawings

12. Performs discipline Material Take Off (MTO) activities using manual methods and computer applications.

Perform all other position related duties

Minimum Requirements:

- US Citizen

- Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline or demonstrated equivalent experience

- 0 to 1 year of job-related experience or equivalent.

- Capability with 2D and/or 3D plant design.

- Good oral and written communication skills.

- Working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs.

- Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.

- Position may require travel.

- Organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work.

- Working knowledge of design development, drawing preparation, and checking procedures.

- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D utility and surface models or other general plant modeling/drafting CAD software platform.

- Working knowledge of engineering calculations and information required on design drawings.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Professional Engineering Registration or the ability to obtain registration.

- Master of Science degree in civil engineering.

- Government or nuclear experience, i.e., DOD, DOE, NR.

- Working knowledge of regulatory Codes and standards.

- Working knowledge with commercially available hydraulic and hydrology software.

- Working knowledge designing site drainage and storm water control systems.

- Working knowledge of the design of underground utilities.

- Ability to prepare various civil engineering calculations and drawings.

Compensation & Benefits

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $66K - $97K annually (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
