Special Security Representative

SMX is seeking a multi-disciplinary, Security Manager Special Security Representative (SSR) with an in-depth understanding and knowledge of the DoD security program; that encompasses the four pillars of Collateral and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security disciplines (Personnel, Information, Physical and Industrial) IAW DoD 5200.01 Volumes 1 through 4; Industrial security IAW DoD 5220.22-M and DoDM 5220.22, Vol 2; Controlled Unclassified Information IAW DoDI 5200.48; DoDM 5105.21 V1-3; Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs); and Intelligence Community Standards (ICS).

This position requires a DoD TS/SCI security clearance which requires US citizenship for work on DoD clients.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Program Management
    • Develop, implement, managed Sensitive Compartmented Information programs and security policies
    • Ensure compliance with national security directives, Executive Orders, and agency regulations
    • Oversee the accreditation, re-certification, and management of Sensitive Comparted Information Facilities (SCIFs)
    • Coordinate with stakeholders across various department and agencies
  • Security Operations
    • Conduct background investigations and security assessments for personnel seeking access to classified information and facilities
    • Manage and monitor security clearances and access controls
    • Oversee physical security measures, including access control systems, visitor management, and security inspections
    • Maintain accurate records and logs of all security activities
  • Training and Awareness
    • Develop and deliver security training programs for personnel with access to classified information and facilities
    • Conduct briefings on security protocol and policy
    • Raise awareness of security threats and vulnerabilities
  • Incident Response
    • Conduct initial assessments and respond to security incidents and suspected violations of security regulations
    • Implement appropriate corrective actions and mitigation strategies in coordination with government leadership
    • Report security incidents to the appropriate authorities
  • Additional Responsibilities
    • Conduct self-inspections and identify areas of improvement in security protocols
    • Liaise with external security agencies as required
    • Stay informed on legislative changes and updates to security regulations
  • OCONUS, OCONUS and overseas travel may be required

Required Skills & Experience
  • TOP SECRET-SCI security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in related field (eg security management, criminal justice)
  • Knowledge of Security Policies and Procedures (DoDM 510521 V1-3)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Desired Skills
  • Masters degree in related field

The SMX salary determination process takes into account a number of factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories, relevant prior work experience, specific skills, education and certifications. The proposed salary for this position is:

$102,000-$153,000 USD
