The Regional Truck Procurement Manager will oversee the strategic procurement and supplier management for inland trucking across a designated region in the USA. This role requires extensive experience in procurement strategy, supplier negotiations, and team leadership.Key Responsibilities:Strategic Procurement:
Develop and implement regional procurement strategies for inland trucking to align with Maersk’s business objectives.Oversee the execution of procurement projects ensuring alignment with cost, quality, and delivery requirements.
Supplier Management:
Establish and maintain high-level relationships with key suppliers to ensure the best pricing and service levels.Lead complex negotiations and contract management with major suppliers to secure advantageous terms.
Regional Responsibility:
Manage procurement operations for a specific region within the USA.Ensure regional procurement activities align with national and global strategies.
Strategic Direction and Savings:
Drive the strategic direction for procurement within the region to achieve significant cost savings and operational efficiencies.Develop and track metrics and KPIs to monitor procurement performance and supplier compliance.
Team Leadership:
Lead and mentor the procurement analyst team, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.Foster a collaborative environment between the procurement team and other departments.
Performance Monitoring:
Regularly review and report on procurement performance, highlighting successes and areas for improvement.Ensure that procurement benefits (realized savings, service level improvements) are measured and followed up.
Risk Management:
Identify and mitigate risks associated with the procurement and supply chain processes.Develop contingency plans to address potential supply disruptions.
Continuous Improvement:
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement processes and strategies.Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices to incorporate into Maersk’s procurement strategies.
