Lead Analyst - EHS

The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from $83,804 - $104,756.

JOB SUMMARY:Establishes, administers, and monitors company-wide standards, procedures and performance, within EHS area of expertise, to minimize risk and ensure compliance with environmental health and safety areas as it relates to their regulatory and legal requirements. Supports the organization in reaching higher levels of environmental and H&S performance. Generally, specializes and focuses on environmental, occupational health or safety. Provides specialized technical expertise and support for the elimination of hazards and prevention of injuries, the reduction of the environmental impact, program development, and performance tracking and reporting. Contributes to the improvement of EHS processes and procedures, fostering efficiencies and integration within Avangrid operating companies.

MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Implement EHS Management System (ISO 14001 & 45001) requirements and verify management and employee compliance with the organization’s safety and environmental management system, environmental, health and safety policies/procedures, and all government regulations.

Owns and delivers on local EHS risk reduction strategy, by partnering with operational customer to identify risks and implement solutions.

Implements Corporate compliance programs, including safety, industrial hygiene, and/or environmental procedures that minimize risks, specify appropriate personal protective equipment and safe work procedures.

Leads the investigation and reporting of significant EHS incidents.

Conducts facility compliance audits for adherence to applicable EHS regulations.

Track, summarize, and plan improvements to the Company’s performance on environmental, health and safety related matters.

Performs statistical analysis and modeling. Assists in preparing regulatory compliance reports to management.

Coordinating/overseeing contractors and consultants health and safety compliance.

Establish inclusive relationships with key leaders to promote positive safety and environmental culture.

Conducts worker safety and environmental training both in house and in the field.

Provide 24-hour incident, storm, or emergency spill response support.

Provides support during regulatory or certification audits/inspections.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of three years relevant experience, OR

Associates Degree with a minimum of five years relevant experience, OR

Ten years of relevant experience.

Exceptional knowledge and understanding of pertinent federal, state and local regulatory codes including DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, NFPA, EPA, and NESC.

Formal EHS Certifications preferred (CSP, SMS, CHMM, ASP, CIH, or CUSP).

Experience with Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) preferred.

OSHA 500/510 Course Completion preferred.

Knowledge of EHS regulations for utility industry preferred.

Knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and/or VPP Management System standards.

Skills/Abilities:

Demonstrated project/program management skills including defining, prioritizing project elements, and moving projects from concept to evaluation phase.

Ability to operate and positively influence at all levels in the organization and with external stakeholders.

Ability to devise practical solutions to complex and risk-based problems or challenges.

Willingness to obtain further certifications and ongoing education.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to create an effective presentation.

Able to work independently, self-starter, and exercise considerable judgment and decision-making skills.

Able to direct outside contractors/consultants and evaluate their progress.

Able to work under tight deadlines with changing priorities.

Ability to travel regionally up to 20%.
