We are seeking a Project Manager to
Support US Marine Corps (USMC) enterprise-level data center operation
Enable engineering, operation, sustainment of USMC application hosting environment for world-wide customers through Agile Project Management
Location: Hybrid (3 days a week onsite / 2 days remote) Local to Kansas City or Quantico, VA
Project Manager (technical)
What you will do
Serve as Project Manager/Scrum Master for projects supporting engineering, operation, sustainment of the USMC's Enterprise Application Hosting Environment (hybrid cloud datacenter)
Responsible for the monitoring, triage and assignment of working queues and execution of approved Data Center Battle Rhythm projects and activities across the HCS team service areas.
Leads HCS teams across the data center to maintain and execute project management via an Integrated Master Schedule of all Data Center projects and initiatives, resources, spend plans and schedules.
Supports Agile Project Management efforts in addition to traditional Waterfall project management - focused on technical implementation and structuring technical steps for project implementation.
Supports and facilitates Project Management Board/Workforce Management Meeting to request approval and prioritization of project initiatives.
Identify, and assemble the appropriate blend of resources and cross functional teams to develop comprehensive project plans in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Captures, publishes and mitigates project risks and issues.
Continually monitors, takes action on and reports status of projects and project critical path.
Leads the project team(s) in determining Data Center requirements and translating requirements into operational plans.
Ensures adherence to Data Center strategic and tactical goals.
Prepares and facilitates daily and weekly status meetings for project stakeholders. Regularly reviews and evaluates opportunities to improve project management best practices within the HCS Team.
Provides Application Inclusion support for new systems joining the HCS hosting environments including providing early life cycle support following onboarding and initial 'go-live' activities.
Coordinates with MCSC activities supporting datacenter onboarding as well as hosted-customer program managers and leadership. Coordinates closely with SLM team to ensure SLA requirements are addressed during onboarding and sustainment activities.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
HS 14, BS 10-12, MS 8-10, PhD 5-7
Requires strong technical/datacenter/cloud build and operations experience
Requires industry project management certification such as Project Management Professional (PMP) (or 5+ years IT Project Management expertise relevant to the position).
Requires ITILv3 2011 Foundations certification or training. ITILv3 2011 intermediate is desired.
Significant IT project management experience including complex project implementations including engineering, design, planning, execution, closeout
Understanding of USMC IT and Cyber policies and procedures and organizational constructs
Must possess an active Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
AWS or Azure foundations training or experience
Target Salary Range
$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
