NEXCOMHQPay Range: $70,878-$90,004 Based upon experienceJob Summary:The Applications Administrator is a key technology contributor with a core focus of applying and supporting technology to deliver business capabilities. Responsible for supporting a number of diverse application systems across multiple subsets of functional business areas within the Enterprise to include but not limited to Merchandise Systems, E-Commerce, Supply Chain Systems, Store Systems, Point of Sale (POS), Financial Systems, Human Capital Applications, Hospitality Property Management, EDI, RIB Services, and Release Management Automation Support. Responsible for the operational maintenance, support, information assurance, and lifecycle management of line-of-business applications within their area of responsibility as well as the implementation of new application features and upgrades.Duties and Responsibilities:Incumbents of this position must be U.S. Citizens.Serves as liaison between the help desk, systems administrators, database administrators and functional (E Business) users.Installs and configures application software.Sets/manages application parameters.Point of contact between application vendors, database administrators and systems administrators for application functionality and configuration.Troubleshoots technical applications problems and coordinates resolution of problems with other support groups.Assists in implementation of security strategy for the application based on requirements.Monitors applications for performance problems and coordinates resolutions with other support groups.Obtains regular processing reports to check for errors, assess/analyze errors and distinguishes between databases, application and customized application problems.Monitors, coordinates and installs vendor provided systems applications software patches, cyclical releases and major upgrades.Assists with developing strategy for the installation of major releases.Assists in providing supporting documentation for systems.Performs impact analysis on all patches prior to installation.Provides technical support for interfaces.Responds to Service Desk Requests within the parameters set forth by NEXCOM SLA's.Ensures/implements the rigorous application of Information Security/Information Assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of Systems, Applications and/or Services (Hardware & Software).Performs other related duties as assigned.This position is designated IT-2 (Non-critical Sensitive) in accordance with SECNAV M-5510.30 and will require a favorable Access National Agency Check and Inquiries (ANACI).Department of the Navy (DON) Cyber Information Technology / Cybersecurity Workforce positions (Cyber IT/CSWF)This position has been designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position in specialty area 45 and as a condition of employment incumbents of this position are required to comply with the DON Cyber IT/CSWF Program requirements of SECNAV M-5239.2, which include:Earn and maintain appropriate credentials from the Cyber IT/CSWF Qualification Matrix (described in SECNAV M-5239.2).Participate annually in 40 hours of continuous learning (CL) activities documented in a current individual development plan (IDP).Required Minimum Cybersecurity Credentials:Education:At least one of the following:Bachelor Degree from accredited University (subject matter as listed in SECNAV M-5239.2 Appendix 4)CNSSI/NTSSI 4015 Systems Certifiers / 4016 Risks Analysts

Training:At least one of the following:CYBR1005 Security EssentialsNEC 1316 AN/BYG-1 (V) TI04 Combat Control Maintenance Technician... (other training options)

Candidates without the required certification may be placed into this job, but must obtain the required certification(s) within 6 months of appointment; failure to obtain this requirement will result in termination of employment.Qualified candidates must be U.S. Citizens.COMPUTER SYS APPS ADMINISTRATOR EXPERIENCE CONSISTING OF THE FOLLOWING:GENERAL EXPERIENCE:

3 years experience in administrative, technical or investigative work which demonstrated the ability and aptitudes required to perform technical, managerial or analytical work involving management information systems.ORSUBSTITUTION OF EXPERIENCE FOR EDUCATION:

One year of related academic study above the high school level may be substituted for 9 months of experience up to a maximum of a 4 year bachelor's degree for 3 years of general experience.ANDSPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in:Experience in business and systems design and implementation.Standard development processes, operating systems, database languages, and programming languages and tools.Hands-on experience with application administration functionality.Applicants must possess technical abilities in Integrated Bus technology.Information Assurance Workforce Certifications (IAM1 jobs):SECNAV M-5239.2 requires incumbents of this position to possess, and maintain current, one of the following Certifications:GIAC Information Security Fundamentals (GISF), GIAC Security Leadership Certification (GSLC), Security+, or one of the following higher level certifications:Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).NEXCOM preferred certification is Security+.This position is designated IT-2 (Non-critical Sensitive) in accordance with SECNAV M-5510.30 and will require a favorable Access National Agency Check and Inquiries (ANACI).
